Pros

Just want to preface my review by saying for the most part, I enjoyed my time with Cielo even if it meant living paycheck to paycheck for the better part of my tenure. I will miss my former co-workers dearly and I was lucky enough to be part of a team where I walked away from Cielo having them as friends for life. I seriously cannot say enough good things about that group of people! I loved the flexibility of being able to work remotely from home if needed and the PTO allotment was decent.

Cons

There’s definitely a culture of favoritism among upper management. They will bend over backwards, seemingly creating new positions out of thin air, just to promote their favorites. Meanwhile, I had to push for about three or four months for a promotion into a role for which I had already been doing the workload (and consistently praised for doing it well). Completely arbitrary obstacles apparently prevented me from getting that promotion and the fault always got punted to someone else or even to a different department. The company consistently raves about “owning your success” and promoting internally, but if there is even one reason why you perhaps aren’t 100% qualified for the job, despite there being 100 reasons why you ARE qualified, they will cite that one reason to keep you where you are. A measly pay bump and a new title weren’t worth the runaround so I told them to forget it and I got a new job elsewhere - it never seems to occur to them that perhaps the reason for employee dissatisfaction or turnaround is due to non-competitive pay/benefits and bureaucratic nonsense. I think this is a great place to work for maybe 1 - 3 years, gain some experience, make connections within your professional network, then move on to something new because you will work your behind off, but not get any worthwhile promotions or pay raises. Heck. the merit bonuses don’t even cover inflation.

Hi, this is Molly Thiel. I’m happy to hear you formed such close connections with your colleagues during your time with Cielo. I have been with the company just over a year, and have met a lot of amazing people. I also appreciate the PTO and flexibility that allows me to create my own work/life balance. We work hard and expect a lot of ourselves, and our leaders are here to help manage those expectations and balance the team’s workload. When it comes time for annual merit and bonus, they are awarded separately – one based on individual performance and one based on a combination of individual and company performance. Just like with any business, some years are greater than others. I applaud your desire to want to move up in the company and without knowing about your personal experience, I cannot comment specifically on your situation. We do post our positions internally and externally, and reward people based on their performance and a set of competencies specific to their role and the role for which they are applying. It sounds like your experience differed from our regular promotion process, and if you’d like to chat more about that, you can contact me any time at molly.thiel@cielotalent.com or 262-439-1389.

Pros

Flexibility to be remote employee.

Cons

Secret society management style and they need an overhaul of change management procedures. This company works on buddy systems and smoking mirrors. It has remote positions and management does nothing to create team culture. They hire when they’re backlogged and then lay off. Your coworkers will throw you under the bus to save themselves because there’s no job security. Cielo managers are clueless to what clients want. Therefore you are always in the dark. Benefits package is subpar.

Hi, this is Darren Simons, President of the Americas. I’m pretty new to Cielo, but I can say with certainty that the experience you describe does not reflect our values, our culture, or the environment we are looking to create at Cielo. An employee’s first year with any company should set the tone for their career development, and well, it sounds like we missed the bar on giving you the proper foundation for growing your career with us. With the rate of growth we are experiencing, change is definitely a constant. It can be exciting and exhausting at the same time, and we do our best to be transparent with our communications, to keep you up-to-date on all that’s happening, as proactively as we can – through internal email, Yammer, All Hands meetings, and team meetings. I’m glad you enjoy the flexibility of working remotely – we actually have more employees who work from home than in our Brookfield headquarters. Because of that, we equip employees and teams with the technology and resources they need to ensure everyone feels connected and has as consistent experience as possible. Our clients’ needs are also constantly evolving with changes in their business, the market, and the economy. They look to us to be a strategic partner, so we work with them to navigate the change. The pace can be challenging at times, and maybe is not for everyone, but for me, the reward of what we do makes it all worthwhile. I’d love the opportunity to talk to you more about your experience. Please contact me any time at darren.simons@cielotalent.com.

Pros

The co workers you meet are great.

Cons

I worked for Cielo for 3.5 years. It started out good but quickly went downhill. The bridge team really started to go down hill when new leaders came in that thought the idea of micro-managing was a great idea. They made you do the work of 2-3 people then wondered why mistakes happen. They will tell you in your one on ones that you are on track to keep growing then call you into a meeting and pick you apart telling you every reason why you should not interview for a promotion. The pay is awful for the work you have to do. They have management rising summits but it does not seem to help the people they have as leaders. Leaders do not know how to keep things confidential. I took something to a leader confidentially and she told the leader I reported to what I had stated and it was me that stated it. All of the negative reviews on here are true. Don’t waste your time unless you are just looking to start your career and move on quickly.

Hi, this is Sarah Anderson, SVP of Global Delivery. I’m sorry to hear you that was your experience. We certainly want our leaders to provide feedback to employees on how to improve and grow, but do not want it to feel like you are being micro-managed – our goal is to empower you to own your success. As for the workload, we do our best to make sure the team has the necessary resources to accomplish the work. I understand we didn’t meet this expectation for you, and admit there are times where more work comes in than expected and we find ourselves stretched. We do look at trends in the business to help us predict the busier times, but know we can do better in this area and we do have some work in progress to allow us to bring on additional support for the team during unexpected peaks. We are always striving to do better, and I will share your feedback with our team. In the meantime if there is anything else you want to share with me please do reach out to me at sarah.anderson@cielotalent.com or 262-754-5048.
