Pros

Benefits and PTO are average Remote work

Cons

My background: I have several years experience with RPOs and 3 years of being a fully remote employee. Cielo cons: Retirement benefits are not competitive. Benefits in general are very average. Lack of engagement and communication. All communication is mostly company "fluff" Preaches diversity, but does not fully engage with it. Very little structure, very manual processes - but this is understandable, as Cielo has grown very quickly. Not much room for growth in responsibilities. You can go from Recruiter to Sr. Recruiter but responsibilities don't change. But this is not uncommon with RPOs. Account specific cons: - Lack of professionalism and accountability. Us vs. the client mentality. -Very transactional with the client, not a true RPO partnership. - Extremely high turnover - Account Leadership often hides it when people leave or says they were promoted, when in actuality they left the company. - Training lasts about a week and then you will be berated for not knowing the entire process. "We already went over this" or "It's on the shared drive" was a common response by week 2. - You will also be berated for not being able to keep up with an extremely high workload. - Very little support from service delivery operations team (recruitment specialists). High turnover from talent acquisition coordinators, often overworked. - No ability for process improvements, idea collaboration. Team calls are all "fluff" and housekeeping items. - Account leadership often brags about working long hours and on weekends.

Hi, this is Tara Cassady, EVP of Client Services. It seems like there is a lot we could talk about – would you be open to a discussion with your leader, People & Culture or me? I want to address your concerns in a more personal way than I can through an anonymous review. What I can say is that we are working to dedicate more time and resources to our onboarding to ensure people do feel more appropriately set up for success. With the rate at which we’re growing, and yes, experiencing the reality of “the great resignation,” we have been ramping up teams quickly to keep up with the needs of our clients, and I recognize there’s opportunity for us to enhance that experience. If you’re open to having a conversation about your feedback, please reach out to me any time via Teams or at Tara.Cassady@cielotalent.com. Thank you.

Pros

Autonomy to complete my work.

Cons

When I think about my time at Cielo, three things come to mind. Unorganized leadership that is constantly “pivoting” due to pressure from the board, a toxic work culture that left me with a pit in my stomach every single day and the unease created by seemingly semiannual layoffs. To Cielo’s credit they are very much in a transitional phase and hopefully they will come out of the changes a better place to work. My advice to anyone considering taking a position here, run far and run fast.

Hi, this is Marissa Geist, COO. Goodness! I hope you didn’t feel this way for the 3-4 years you were here. That’s a long time to stay with an organization where you feel as you described in your post. Did something change recently to make you feel his way? The environment you describe does not reflect our values, and I hope that you talked to someone about the issues you faced when you were here. We are in a transitional phase, and it’s one of growth and expansion. It’s dynamic and challenging, and should be exciting – I’m disappointed to hear that was not the case for you. If you’d like to share more about your experience, please contact me at marissa.geist@cielotalent.com.

Pros

Decent amount of PTO Collaborative sourcing atmosphere

Cons

Annual January Layoffs Additional Layoffs when they want to send work to Asia to save money. They get rid of the top earners from the impacted teams or those who don't have the best work record. Mostly it's the top earners though. This is not a stable work environment. You can be shifted from one team to another at the drop of a hat. You could lose your job to another region if they decide you are costing them too much money. They pay lip service to diversity but don't provide necessary healthcare to non-cis-gendered employees. They don't make sure trans and non-binary employees feel safe and included. Given the atmosphere, I would not be surprised if other minority groups felt similarly.

Hi, this is Dan Bates, SVP of Operations. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our flexible work model does move people from team to team when the work we do for our clients experiences peaks or valleys. It’s that flexibility and opportunity to learn and cross-train that many of our team members appreciate. We did have to make the difficult decision to eliminate some positions a couple weeks ago, and those decisions were based on roles and responsibilities rather than individual performance or pay. Balancing our global workforce is part of a broader initiative currently in process to differentiate our operating model. It’s essential to make some changes to the way we work as our industry and our clients' needs continue to evolve. We know change can be difficult, and we’re doing as much as possible to take care of our people through this transition and beyond. To ease impacted employees’ transitions, we’ve offered a significant notice period and some additional benefits to provide stability and aid in their job search. In the long-term, changing the way we work will open the opportunity for us to invest more in our people – more opportunities for learning & development, enhanced benefits, recognition and workplace improvements. If you’d like to talk more, I’m available any time at daniel.bates@cielotalent.com or you can call me at 262-439-1294.
