Hi there. This is Sue Marks and I wanted to respond directly to your post. Thanks for your dedicated service to Cielo and our clients. It’s really disheartening to me that such a tenured employee as yourself felt the need to leave the organization because of a lack of trust and confidence in your leaders and because you did not feel heard. I’m really sorry that your experience fell far short of what I expect from our company and our leaders. I read every online review we receive and can assure you that all feedback is shared with our global and regional leadership teams. In 2018, we are engaging a systematic program to engage in more intensive employee listening, engagement and action planning sessions, as well as an even more comprehensive management training curriculum. Although you’ve already departed Cielo, I welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback. Feel free to connect with me personally at sue.marks@cielotalent.com.

Attractive Opportunity... On the Surface.

Pros

I am able to work remotely, which is a perk. Also, The middle-management team in my department is fantastic and advocates for their employees every step of the way.

Cons

No one makes as much as they deserve for as many hours as they put in. While "recognition" is given quite often, rarely do workers see actual material compensation for their work. Profits continue to rise, while wages rise very slowly, save for the executive team and those close to the top. Meanwhile, middle management is being forced to work under ever increasing strenuous conditions, work with "Limited Term Employment" teams who are asked to work full-time without full-time benefits. The only people with an actual voice are the business, numbers-minded folks. For a company that works primarily with people, they seem to de-value those with interpersonal skills. The leadership is very out of touch with their workers, and the environment feels as if you are "walking on eggshells" to try to please them. This means that no one is advocating for the workers, not even the workers themselves, the people who work tirelessly to earn a profit for the executives.

Such a Sad Story

Pros

Working from home. Flexible hours if needed for an appointment or an event. Great colleagues and in my experience I have had great management.

Cons

It’s very sad to see the company that I worked 8+ years decline the way it has. What was once a joyful culture, has become toxic. Individuals are so worried about their jobs that they will throw their colleagues under the bus without blinking an eye. This is not specific to employees, but management as well. The collaboration that once was great, open minded, inclusive, and market driven, is gone. People are terrified of losing their jobs. Excellent long term employees are being forced out or leaving because the unrealistic demands, expectations, or lack of transparency. Trust is lost among employees and management due to constant change and layoffs. I have been told that the only constant at Cielo is change, but how about consistency? I have flexed and adapted to change to accommodate the demands of this company over the past 8+ years and was always happy to do it because of the culture Cielo encompassed. I worked on 8 clients in my tenure and loved the experience, the excitement, and opportunity to change a person’s life along with making the company better because of the people we hired. The changes that are happening now are slowly destroying a once great company, due to loss of trust and transparency. We preach about building trust with the client but it is almost impossible to perform top tier when you lack that trust on your own team because the company infrastructure is so unstable. Confidence is gone in employees and management due to micro management from the top down. Unfortunately, due to this, the negative effects have trickled down to all levels.
