Pros

Carrier hires some very smart people

Cons

HR managers and middle and upper level management do not support or promote their talented people. Very low morale, no raises or bonuses for most employees, horribly culture. Horrible insurance benefits. Many non-exempt employees bullied/forced to work overtime and not report it while executives get fat bonuses.

Pros

Benefits are pretty good. 401k + match are nice. People are for the most part hard working and wanting to do a good job.

Cons

There are a lot of people scared of digital transformation, specifically in leadership roles. This has started to challenge the norms of their day to day and now they feel like they're going to be replaced - which is true if they don't get it together. Management is a top down approach, but no one is willing to engage in transformation. This is why our competitors are ahead of us in the digital front. Very old school culture, 'if you're not in a meeting & have a power point for that meeting, you're not working' leads to back to back to back meetings with no real work getting done. Be prepared to be available 24/7, even on your days off / PTO. PTO is lack luster at 3 weeks to start when most companies are at 4 and best companies are unlimited.

Pros

The pay is OK, the work environment is at times very caustic! Some of the coworkers are great, then others will act like they are your friend but will stab you in the back repeatedly!

Cons

Lot of gossiping busybodies and not sure why? They talk about this culture they have but you rarely see it being practiced! Everybody is always in a CYA mode. You reach out to your superiors but you will never get responses in return. Just silence! Training on their systems is nonexistent they just expect you to learn it on your own. It is a pretty complicated system. Good luck! Looking for a way out now!

Hi, and thanks so much for your review. This is Automation Logic (www.automationlogic.com) in the UK. Are you sure this is the company you meant to leave your review for? We don't have any employees (past or present) in or from Chicago. Are you sure you didn't mean to leave a review for Automated Logic which actually *is* in Chicago (and which is nothing to do with us)? The reason I ask is that this just doesn't sound like us! We're *so* not gossipy or back-stabby and never caustic. Managers value and care genuinely about their staff here more than at any other company I've ever worked with. Also as a business we don't really have 'systems' or 'a system'. We're a Cloud Automation IT consultancy that mainly employs DevOps engineers. Honestly I think you are reviewing a different company. It does sound like you've had a terrible experience with the employer you were with and *you deserve better!* If you're an engineer please take a look at our jobs pages and send us an application. We'd love to show you what a nice workplace can be like. If you do realise that you have reviewed the wrong business, we'd be really grateful if you could do us a solid and withdraw your review and direct it to the guys who need to hear it! Thanks and all the best, Vicky
