Pros

The paycheck is the only reason to work at Avaya. There are some good people, but senior management isn't included in this list. The 401k matching program is good and the number of days vacation is better than most. They also allow virtual office when they are not complaining about folks not filling office space.

Cons

Off shore everything to India. Trade experience for inexpensive. Not interested in US employees. Not enough funding for tools. Manage folks remotely, but never allowed to travel to meet them. Proactive efforts are not rewarded. Everyone is a veto, but not one person can approve. Justify yourself at all times ore they will get rid of you.

Pros

Avaya has a pay-for-performance culture, so bonuses and merit increases are tied to performance. Company pay and benefits seem to be competive.

Cons

Internal processes within Avaya are broken and difficult, which slows everything down. Senior management lacks direction, few trust employees to make the right decision for themselves, and there is no accountability. Corporate initiatives are rarely completed... just as some new initiative is nearly complete, the management changes its mind and it's back to square-one.
