      Pros

      i think avaya has absolutely great technology as in unquestionably a leader in call center and unified communication. what is even better is that technology is given to the avaya team and we are empowered to work virtually and be highly productive while still maintaining a strong work life balance. i believe that flexible has been one of the primary factors in the career longevity seen at Avaya. most of us agree that avaya has great people and that we are a very diverse bunch of people in style, manner, interests with a common love of technology and how the seemingly ordinary - a phone - can be an extraordinary differentiator.

      tough processes and constant downsizing and resource shifting

      Pros

      Well respected in the telecom industry. Industry leading, global communications company. Bell System heritage. Many good intended people work there.

      Cons

      Since going private, the company has gone through a number of downsizing. Not sure how secure jobs are, there, at this point.

      Some cool, some old technology. Product teams are silos. High salaries and benefits.

      Pros

      Pretty high salaries relative to job title. Great benefits. Some cool technology. Good resources for knowledge sharing - their is real expertise here, such as in the Security domain.

      Cons

      Fairly political at Director level and above. Product teams are silos - there is little if any resource balancing between product teams unless there is already a history of that between particular teams.
