Pros

None - absolutely none. Avoid at all costs…

Cons

Toxic environment. Rude obnoxious manager. No flexibility - even though promised at interview. Didn’t give notice, just left! Yes, it was that bad! I would rather be unemployed than work another second at that particular office! So bad for your mental health! I did consider consulting an outside body ie… Lawyer or another Government body, as the attitude of one particular manager was so AWFUL! Do yourself a favour - don’t fall for the rubbish you hear on LinkedIn!! It’s utter BS… I’ve been a professional for over 20 years; I have never experienced such awful behaviour… Toxic, toxic, toxic…

Pros

- There are some exceptional Recruiters and Managers who are not only great at their job, but who are lovely people too - Remuneration and benefits are good

Cons

- They champion "work-life balance" and encourage part-time hours and flexibility, however profit will always come first. Therefore they expect long hours and, despite being part time, |I have consistently been expected to deliver on higher volumes than my full time peers. You are expected to deliver the same or more yet your bonus is pro rated. - Many staff I know have suffered ill health and stress as a result of workloads, including myself - Whilst past leaders on other accounts have been amazing and supportive, my most recent experience of leadership has sadly been very poor. They were able to operate an unsympathetic culture of exclusivity, discrimination and dishonesty whilst giving very little support, guidance or knowledge. Whilst this was all raised and evidenced, it has been swept under the carpet by AMS.

Pros

Opportunity to work with some major clients across multiple industries. Working from home was previously a major + of working for AMS. Plenty of talented colleagues to learn from. Opportunity to change account after 1 year.

Cons

Remuneration is below market average in most locations. Company refuses to cover expenses accrued working from home. Lack of diversity - the D&I board is made up of Caucasians. Leadership positions are filled mostly by white males. Yearly bonus paid out only in 2 of the past 5 years. IT equipment is somewhat unreliable. Company restructure has created disarray. A number of individuals have been promoted to positions they are incapable and unworthy of. Stinks of 'who you know' rather than 'what you know.

AMS Response
5y
There is a lot in your post that my response here cannot cover to the depth that I would like to. I am very keen to hear from you to discuss your views and to understand your experience of our culture over recent months – there is a lot of positive action around the many facets of D&I at AMS that I really would like to share with you. I really would like to talk in complete confidence, please do get in touch, Ruth
