I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sears (Houston, TX) in Mar 2012
Interview
Fairly easy and straight forward. I was asked about myself, typical questions of what were my strengths/weaknesses. And the rest of the interview was mainly to evaluate me as a sales representative, to see if I had enough social skills to hold my own on the floor. (Although there were many who didn't and still got the job). The lady interviewing me worked at the HR department and was very relaxed and nice. She then proceeded to give me options to work as a cashier or sales associate explaining that cashiers made more money by the hour but sales associates were eligible for omission, meaning if you sold a lot of stuff you would make way more than a cashier.

Interview
It was contractual employment. I dropped the resume and was told that we will give you a call. I recieved a call within a week and was asked to come for an interview. All the applicants gathered in one room. Recruiters asked to introduce ourselves and they shortlisted the candidates.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sears (Hamilton, ON) in Nov 2015
Interview
Very relaxed and easy
Manager made sure I felt comfortable and understood the job details etc. She was younger which was nice because I felt less pressure and that we could relate to more things
