The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (White Plains, NY) in Jul 2010
Interview
First, you fill out the application online, then if you are selected, it tells you to pick a time to do your first interview a week later. The first interview is very simple and they ask questions like "describe a situation when you worked with a person that you did not like and what you did about it" they give you alot of info about the job and ask you if you feel that you can handle all of the responsibility. If your selected for a 2nd interview, then you'll meet with a manager a week later and they will ask harder questions that test your abilities in sales and costumer service. They want to see if you always "on your toes". If you are invited for a 3rd interview you will come back another week later to meet with the store manager. The 3rd interview is just so the store manger can see who you are so if you get one, you pretty much have the job. When I arrived for my third interview, the store manager was too busy so they just hired me.

Question 1
What was an experience that you put a lot of experience into but didn't succeed?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sears in Jul 2010
Interview
I initially applied online for a cashier position. Like others, it immediately allowed me to set up my own interview time, so I selected it for a Tuesday in the afternoon. That same day or the next, I had gotten 2 emails that stated that my interview was rescheduled. One for the same time & day I originally put and another for the Friday after. I couldn't reach any person to get a hold of the HR to confirm, so I went to the 1:00 on Friday. I got there, and waited for 10 minutes while they found a manager to interview me. The first interview consisted of a 1:1 interview with a member of the lower management team. The guy seemed to like me, and asked all the basic questions. Describe a time where you had to meet a goal & how did you meet it. Questions along those lines. He offered me a 2nd interview with the department manager a week later. I went on Tuesday and found out that the manager pretty much had no idea that he had an interview that day. I wasn't the only one there that was in the same situation either. Anyway, the cashier manager then interviewed me, and was asking questions about my work history and what I went to school for, and if I thought I could handle the functions of the job. He said he was "concerned" that I was so quiet that I wouldn't be good with pushing their plastic on the customers, but he did put me through the 3rd interview. I went for the 3rd interview two days later, and the store manager put me in a group interview with another candidate. She asked questions like "Where do you see yourself in 5 years," "Why should I hire you," and "Describe yourself in 1 word." After that, she said that she had 7 people going for 2 cashier positions, and that she had more to interview later that day & in the morning. She said we would hear back the next day if we were selected for the position. I'm assuming I didn't get the position after that remark, but I will see what tomorrow brings (the 3rd interview was today). I will update if I hear further news. Overall, the interview process was pretty simple, but I think a 3 step interview process for a minimum paying job is a bit ridiculous. However in this economy, I will take what I can get.

Question 1
Role playing a scenario. You as the cashier have a long line of customers, and you still must ask all the questions required of you. The second customer in line is unhappy and wishes to speak with a manager, what would you do in this situation.
