I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sears (Pennsdale, PA) in Aug 2011
Interview
They were organized and I arrived 15 min early and they took me in right away. First, a guy interviewed me and he broke the awkwardness by telling me about himself and asking a few questions. then he asked the basic questions like: Are u willing to ask customers if they have a Sears card wit them or if they would like them?, then he asked do you think u can handle this type of job. Have i ever been arrested? Can I prove Im eligible to work? Then he is like,"I'm goin to offer you an extended interview." then he went to get a woman to ask me questions like: What accomplishments have you made in school?, What are ur 2 goals in school?, Have you ever been in a situation and how did u handle it?, Have u helped anyone or did something to help others and how?, Name 3 reasons why you wouldn't buy thing online? Do u have experience with technology and what? Have you helped people with technology? Then she is like im goin to offer you the job, do you accept? and I said yes. They both were really cool. Now i just got to go get a drug test and ill be good to go! Hope this helped. And when you go in be yourself and truthful and be confident, thats what helped me. Make sure you look them in the eye when your answering their questions and think about what your goin to say before you say it.

Interview
After submitting your application on Sears.com, you may or may not receive a call from the head of Human Resources. The Head of HR will schedule an appointment for an interview with one of the department managers. There are two different interviews. The first one will be with a miscellaneous manager. He or she will sit down with you in a small office and ask you text book job interview questions, such as how well you work with people, how you deal with problems, etc. If you pass this interview, the manager will let you know if you got the second interview. If you qualified for the second interview, they will schedule you a drug test for you. At this point, you already have the job, pending the drug test. The second interview is mainly an introduction between you and your new manager. If you are applying to be a cashier, being a "cat person" is recommended, although not necessary as the cashier manager is. After you pass the drug test, you start training, and you're on your way to being a Sears cashier!
