I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nielsen (New York, NY) in Apr 2018
Interview
I had an initial call with the recruiter where we walked through my resume and discussed my qualifications, which was a total of 30 minutes.
My next round was a phone interview with a director, which also included a resume walk-through but focused more on situational questions and case study questions. She asked very specific questions about my past work experience and how I felt I would be equipped to handle the tasks on the team.
My final round was an on-site interview in the NYC office, where I met with another director. It was a much more laid back conversation about my interests in market research; it served more as a chance to learn about the position and the team. He asked several questions about my strengths and weaknesses and very pointed questions about the kind of research that I was familiar with in my former roles.
All promises about timelines were met or exceeded, and there were never any cancellations or delays.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nielsen (New York, NY) in Sep 2017
Interview
First I had a phone call with HR, then with a manager on the team. The basic questions - tell me a little about yourself, strengths/weaknesses, why analytics, what makes you unique, etc.
Final round involved meeting 3 members of the team for 20 minutes each. Mostly behavioral questions similar to the phone interviews. I was also asked a situational question - how I would go about helping a company that claims their ads are underperforming (simple answer - benchmark performance of different KPIs against competition, look at industry trends they need to get on board with, etc.). Was given a call and offer the following week.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nielsen (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Sep 2017
Interview
I have interviewed with many companies over the past several months and Nielsen by far is the most unprofessional company that I have come across ever. The HR will call you, take your details and schedule an interview and suddenly on the day of the interview just an hour before they will tell you the interview is to be re-scheduled.
They scheduled interview 6 times and then postponed it.
The worst part is that when I asked the hiring manager for an update, the reply is stop spamming me.
