Pros

If you like the small atmosphere of a store the size of a closet and cheaply made merchandise this is for you.

Cons

The pay for associates is low. The clothes and accessories are poorly assembled they rip and break all the time. My BM had me stitching/sewing/glueing broken merchandise and selling it for full prices. Upper management also the district will pressure you into "the Frannie promise" which includes 5 steps of shoving selling points down the "guests" throats. You will be told to hit your numbers so your BM and ABM can get their bonuses. The clothes are so similar that come in every season nothing really changes.

Keeping It real at the corporate office

Pros

Benefits are good for a retail company. On-site gym is nice. I like the iced tea more then the soda machine.

Cons

Total turnover of executive level management. Except inexplicably the lawyer who is the default #2. He is a lawyer for goodness sake with no retail experience who runs half the company. The CEO is never really there (i.e. in the office) and lives in Dallas or something. and has not done much except hire a bunch of upper management that don’t really fit. They are either not qualified for what they were hired to do or come from failing companies. Then they spend all there time bringing in people from there former company so they can make it just the same. (A loser) 1. I am just picking on the top level. The problems go all through the corporate office. We do have a “vision 20/20” that is apparently a secret to everyone but upper management and nobody has to filter any of their projects through but the CEO spent a ton of time on it so I guess its valuable? If you need a paycheck go ahead and take the job. But based on the management (especially the CEO and the lawyer) don’t expect very much. Get as much out of them as you can and then move on to greener pastures.

Pros

There is a lot of room to move up in the company if you show promise. In the past year or so, the company has really stepped up their game in terms of a standard selling technique. I learned a lot in my time there and built many skills as a manager.

Cons

The downside to working for this company is it is mainly all woman, which means there is a lot of gossip and petty drama. I love the company, but the gossip train in upper management is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I've been with the company for over two years and I've just had enough.
