relatively cute work environment cool coworkers (obviously depends on the store) understanding store management (open-door policy, fair & easy to request days off) ability to grow individually and creatively- able to gain life skills (a main reason why i've stayed)
Cons
corporate visits are CUTTHROAT. even as a stylist. if i'm a part-time worker, full-time student, the last thing I should be worrying about is whether or not i'm going to be shoving the "promise" down a ton of people's throats today--especially in a high volume store. the 30% off discount is OKAY, but is sometimes only a little more, if not less than promotions that are already going on in the store anyway..could be way higher the pay for a stylist isn't bad, as its more than minimum wage, but should be a little more (if not, at least bonuses) for sales leads as well. it's fine for pocket change, though everyday is different- one day we're pushing sales on people and the next we're processing crazy stock. the compensation for such should be way better the promise........ is e x t r e m e l y.......... un...rea.....listic... there is no possible way that, in a MALL, I could possibly keep track of the name & occasion of every person in the store at any given time. also, putting yourself on both sides of the spectrum, not everyone wants to explain themselves as soon as they step foot in a store. the steps are super far-fetched for both employees and customers. no one wants to feel like a bother, and no one wants to be badgered. if someone likes the product, they're going to buy ANYWAY, not with the help of a processed script. there have been SO many instances where people ask if we get paid commission. this is NOT for the introverted at heart, something I wish was told to me before starting here. I should not be terrified to speak correctly every time a guest enters the store.
