Pros
Okay if you like startup environments
Cons
- career growth depends on networking rather than merit - pay is well below average and management doesn't give out bonuses and hasn't increased the salary bands in 2023 despite the company seeing record profits - work/life balance is awful as you are constantly peer pressured into travelling to other countries for company events that last several days - company culture is trying to scare engineers into not asking for salary raises while asking them to work 4 different jobs at once because of a lack of middle/project/product managers - engineers are promoted to managers randomly, with no training. A high number of first-time managers make life impossible for engineers - independence of teams is worshipped even as it has become clear to everyone for quite some time that the company needs a hierarchical structure to get things done properly. Independent teams are a waste of everyone's time and mental health but management refuses to address the issue - salaries are kept low with the excuse that "we're a growth company, your shares will grow a lot" but a quick look at the stock market cap over the past two years debunks this myth
