Pros

Flexible working hours. Well-stocked kitchen. Sauna in the office

Cons

This organisation is made up of loud people. Quiet ones who contribute are either drowned out or forced to be as loud or will not be recognised. Inter-department bickering happens all the time. Loads of politics because of autonomous culture. Tech is an utter mess. Compensation and stocks are below market. Same feedback has been given by numerous leavers, but nothing's done. Flexible working means you will have no form of life. Be prepared! You will be slacked about work when you are on vacation and off sick. Work anytime any day! Ceo paints rosy pictures of company success. Working here, however, wouldnt make you feel like you are working in a successful company. Cost cutting is done in every way possible Do not be fooled by the novelty of having a sauna in the office. No one uses it. Totally overrated!

Hi, thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. I hope you were able to pass on your feedback to your lead and the People team before you left as we want all our people to feel that they can discuss their concerns. It’s the only way we can get better. I’m really sad to hear this was your experience with us and is the opposite of how we want people to feel, in particular your concerns around compensation. We're regularly reviewing our salary ranges to ensure they continue to be competitive, and we review salary ranges for all employees globally at least every 12 months. As you know, in addition to salary we offer competitive stock options for all our employees to share in the long term success of our company. Working within autonomous teams, with each team getting to pick how they operate and what problems to solve, can have its downsides. There are many teams in TransferWise that work as a team rather than a group of individuals, and it's sad to hear you left without that experience. I do hope you were able to pass on your feedback before you left. If you're up for a conversation, I’d like to hear more about your particular experience. Please feel free to reach out to me via employerbrand@transferwise.com and the team will connect us. Thanks Ross

Pros

Casual environment and office is dog friendly.

Cons

Working with people you can’t trust. Many dishonest people in all departments who are only looking after themselves.

Pros

They are riding high on past success. They've been lucky that competitors have had a few problems...

Cons

Most leads are leads based on length of time in company rather than any leadership ability. Inconsistency of ability across teams - people are kept/ promoted if they agree with the leadership team. Some of the leadership team are really incompetent so they prefer people around them who are just as incompetent... Micro-management by leadership (esp CEO) or in worst cases complete by-passing of teams ....while still claiming to be an autonomous culture. No longer the boys club it used to be... but the female employees are pretty cutthroat while claiming to be supportive.
