Pros

Very supportive colleagues and a middle management that cares about their staff. I was present during a large restructuring of the organisation and a lot of effort was made to keep a supportive atmosphere. The global presence of the company is felt in the activities and this also opens up for quite some career options.

Cons

Swedish is very quickly necessary in connection with anything but conversations related to work. Especially in terms of conversations during the coffee breaks it quickly becomes important if you need

Pros

I was constantly challenged and really loved the people I worked with. It's a fast paced environment but every co-worker I came across took the time to explain what was happening so I would truly understand the process.

Cons

The industry itself is not of the most stable right now. It's has been an amazing internship experience but there have been many recent cutbacks that worry me about the future stabilitiy of the company.

Pros

Excellent earned time-off benefits. Job and industry stability with no accountability for poor job performance whatsoever.

Cons

Volvo is a massively bloated bureaucracy. The added complexity and friction are well-intentioned, but only serve to keep as many people employed as possible in order for middle management to increase their sense of importance and status within the company. There are far too many people whose job serves no productive purpose at all whatsoever. They call meetings, introduce unproductive trivial processes and add unnecessary paperwork that preserve the perverse incentives that feed the monumental bureaucracy. The onslaught of red tape overload steals time, leaves the few people who are actually trying to be productive emotionally exhausted and undermines the organization's ability to perform actual work.
