Pros
You have flexibility with creating your schedule Benefits are god for retail
Cons
This place has unrealistic expectations of you. As a DM you are literally on call at all times there is zero work life balance. The worst part is you have to fake everything, say the right things, use Victoria’s Secret lingo and you can never disagree with upper management or you are considered that you do not have a growth mindset. When you have a corporate visit you spend weeks prepping your teams to say what they want to hear, you work all hours to get every panty recovered and every nook and cranny cleaned which is so ridiculous because it is not the real deal you end up presenting a fake reality of what is really happening day to day. Regional managers are like robots they all speak the same language and have to be so formal that they come across as uptight and not genuine. There is never any recognition and the other reviews on here are so accurate the favoritism is absurd. If you look the part and speak the part you are considered a top performer and can get promoted if you don’t then you are overlooked. You are judged for everything you do, there is a DM saying to “always be ready for the feedback buffet” because after any meeting, call, visit you can expect to get a download of everything you could have done better. The expectations of success are so ridiculous you are still expected to make sales when you have no traffic and when you don’t perform you get coached. You are micro managed in all aspects of the job and Loss prevention is a joke. They say it is in your control and when you get external losses it hits your annual review regardless of how it occurred. If you are looking for a genuine work environment that has realistic expectations and care for their people this is not the place to be a DM!
