Pros

Pays well, easy vacation policy, employee discount, nice office

Cons

Basically no chance to be promoted for creative roles unless you are hired as a manager/director level. Normal creative people takes years to get a senior title. Also, there are some really nasty, crazy people there, and to make things worse, they are the directors and VPs, who constantly get promoted. As a result, it was very hard for me to keep my motivation up.

Cons

When I first started my role as a ‘Seasonal associate’ I was very excited as the interview made the company sound so amazing to work for. We where given one day of training consisting of videos and slide shows about the company policies and different products within the store etc. Several days later I was thrown on to the shop floor and expected to remember everything and perform every given task from then on perfectly and if I dared ask for help off any management, I was made to feel completely stupid. I was stood folding ‘panties’ for 6 hours completely overwhelmed and lost as not one member of management approached me to welcome me or tell me what to do. The majority of the regular staff and some members of management where pleasant, however certain members of management I feel behaved completely unprofessional often went out of their way to make us seasonal associates feel unwanted, inferior and unimportant. The staffroom was extremely frosty and people would intentionally not involve us seasonal employees in conversation. Certain members of management didn’t even bother to learn my name throughout my whole time there, I have never felt so inferior in a workplace as I did here and it has sadly damaged mine a few other girls’ confidence. I witnessed management screaming at staff behind cash wrap in front of customers and heard management bad mouth certain employees, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I am sure Victoria's Secret itself is a fabulous company to work for in other stores, it is just unfortunate that my experience was so degrading.

30% off full price products

Cons

The worlds worst company to work for. Management are an actual joke. They treat you like dirt, give you the worst jobs and sit around and do nothing all day. The full-time staff so horrible and they will do anything to throw you under the bus. They will turn into management for no reason and make you look stupid in front of customers. There are too many people 'in charge', they all contradict each other and they will literally shout at you on the shop floor in front of everyone rather then take you into the staff room privately. I was not shown anything but just expected to know how everything worked. I was talked about behind my back, made to feel so small and they did nothing to help me cover a shift even though it was their problem. After 6 consecutive 9 hour shifts on a panty bar with no choice to leave or serve customers, I left. Unfair that everyone else gets commission and seasonal associates don't even though we get all of the worst jobs.
