Pros

There are some good people who work there and the job is not generally overly stressful.

Cons

1) One of the major downsides is the cult like work environment in which workers are encouraged to use store lingo and praise the company for things that are, in reality, virtually meaningless to employees. Most people just play along as a joke and, of course, because they are there for a check. 2) While communication from employees to management is heavily encouraged, communication from managers to employees is virtually non-existent, which is very frustrating. Furthermore, full time employees are required to spend so much time sending and reading e-mails (most of which are meaningless blabber) that it cuts into productivity, causing unnecessary time crunches on projects. 3) The erratic scheduling makes it extremely difficult to coordinate any other type of activity outside of work.

Pros

As far as retail goes, you will not get better compensation for a part time job.

Cons

The micromanagement is deplorable and the head management condescending and useless. If you have issues with your scheduling the best thing to do is make changes weeks in advance or simply plead sickness. However, if they choose to change your set schedule at a moments notice, be prepared for an interrogation if you cannot. The upper-management and senior full time staff are often unavailable and disappear into their offices to do administrative (e-mail, meetings, phone conferences, etc.) tasks while the under staffed part time team are left to fend for themselves with rude and insulting customers.
