      How quick a bad management team can ruin a good company

      Pros

      We had a very strong software development team with very good management 3-4 years ago. People worked very hard at that time.

      Cons

      After CEO/VP changed, they started to force smart guys to leave, and hired somebody who directed the team on the wrong way, and hired somebody who made things worse. More and more smart people were forced to leave, and finally they lost the big project LCSS which the Thales Ottawa has been working on it for about 10 years. As a result, they laid off almost the whole team. Sad story.

      Some good people to work with. Competitive salary and benefits

      Cons

      Do not treat people with dignity or respect. When i was let go my manager without warning set up a meeting under false pretences calling it an update meeting where a nice girl from HR told me it was my last day. I had no performance warnings, no behaviour warnings, no absence warnings, no colleague issues, apparently just a business decision. On top of that i personally knew my director for about 8 years prior to working for neither him or my manager had the common decency to let me go themselves. Beware of being let go on the spot

      - Office is awesome - Cafeteria is awesome - Good to have such a big name in your CV especially if you are trying to build your profile early on in your career. - Base systems & processes are very structured and robust. Ex: On-Boarding Program. - Very strong change management program.

      Cons

      - little or no career progression - very slow paced environment slows down your learning and development experience. - little or no training / capability building
