Pros

Very friendly and helpful team Great store management

Cons

Upper management has unrealistic expectations and you will be expected to overwork yourself, Expect to fight for any form of a wage increase and you’re lucky if you’ll get sales commissions which is only 1.5% if you make weekly and monthly targets (also set by upper management) Expect to use a super old and outdated sales system (Linux: Focus)

Pros

Other salespeople are subpar at best, including quite a few store managers, coasting along so competition isn't an issue. Of course, the good ones know who they are.

Cons

Managers will not reward good salespeople with more hours and/or raises. It's no wonder there is a revolving door for actual sales talent and where the most agreeable and cliquey-collective types get to stay. The only reason Luxottica and by extension Ray-bans, Oakley, and all other in-house brands do well are because of the ridiculous, 1000% markups on the products. When your gross profit margin per unit of Ray-ban is 90%, you don't really need good salespeople. Commission is 1%. On a 200-300 dollar pair of Ray-bans, that's 2-3 dollars. I once sold 14 pairs of sunglasses in a single transaction, and my commission was like 25 bucks. It's criminal.

Pros

Honestly great associates & made wonderful memories. People really wanted to work hard & help each other.

Cons

Management & leadership…the store director was extremely disorganized & unfair when it came to his associates. Key holders are taken advantage of and told “it’s a resume booster” yet they’re expected to over perform, run a sales floor on top of having to sell to make sure they’re making enough money, & do management work. Raises and promotions were talked about all the time yet no one wanted to help you grow and further your career. On top of all of that mental health was never taken seriously and whenever someone reported something to HR they either ended up fired or targeted as long as they continued to work there. You’re extremely overworked while the managers take weeks off from work. Unqualified people were being promoted while hard working associates wanting to always grow and pushing for a promotion are left with nothing.
