Mean Girls

Pros

The company is young, fun and dynamic however a lot of your job satisfaction depends on what particular studio you work for.

Cons

Managers are mean girls that seemed to get joy from putting other girls down. I have been treated with very little respect. Feel like a glorified sorority - if you are not part of the core crew then you are essentially a pledge being yelled at by the older "entitled girls" Cult like atmosphere is definitely true - and not in a good way

Pros

you ride for free if you work here

Cons

the girls at this place or too cliquey, if your not in their crowd they won't ask you to ride with them, won't ask you for coffee, they talk behind your back, they pretend to like you with fake smiles and attitudes.

First of all we want to apologize. We are so sorry that your experience with SOUL left a bad taste in your mouth - we never want that and we hate that you had a less than positive time with us. We also want to thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate the feedback so much as our culture has always been incredibly important to us so we want to know where we can improve. From the beginning, the culture of our company has been community driven and helped us to create a unique and special company over the past nine years. We are founded in the idea that fitness can be fun and centered around a supportive community that encompasses each other as much as our customers and riders. We are so upset that you did not feel welcome in this community - we are truly so disappointed and we want to make this right. We never want anyone to feel excluded or overlooked in this community. Recently, we’ve been focused on building and developing our Training department with the intention of providing more support to our field teams and to provide resources for them to develop greater communication. We strive to be a transparent, collaborative company where feedback is always encouraged. Our goal is to provide an environment where everyone feels happy, challenged and supported. Again, we hate that your relationship with us didn't work out but we thank you so much for letting us know about your experience – our studio teams are extraordinarily important at SoulCycle, and it’s crucial that we continue to pay attention and improve the overall work experience whenever possible. We hope you will come back and ride with us again soon.

Expansion Leaves Employees in the Dust

Pros

-uplifting, fast-paced work environment focused on wellness -diverse, fun loving staff -riding privileges -brand notoriety -networking with riders -lots of opportunity for career growth (if you're friends with the right people in corporate and haven't crossed the wrong ones)

Cons

-salaries are poor for any full-time studio position, from Assistant to Regional Manager. I've heard the same complaint from many coworkers in corporate. You'll be lucky to make ends meet, especially in NYC. Because the company is expanding so rapidly, there's not enough hands on deck. Most people take on a workload fit for 3 for the (mediocre) salary of 1. -disappointing maternity/maternal benefits- maternity leave is pathetic and there are no resources for pumping, childcare etc

Hi and thank you so much for taking the time to write this response. Please know we take these reviews and feedback incredibly seriously, and are able to take actions in the right direction because of them. I’m thrilled to hear you’ve experienced SoulCycle to be a positive, uplifting work environment, and I agree we have amazingly diverse and fun-loving staff with lots of room for career growth. As you described, we’re absolutely growing and expanding and with this, comes some growing pains. The great thing about SoulCycle is that we are constantly learning and improving. With our expansion we’re focusing on ways to keep SoulCycle a wonderful place to work. In regards to salaries we just rolled out a new comp structure for full-time studio positions. With more people comes new issues and opportunities, and I love (and agree) about the idea of having some resources for new mothers (I have a 4-year old myself). We will investigate this immediately. We’re also working on hiring more staff and recently expanded our recruiting team for this specific reason. We know with growth comes great internal responsibility and learning. We’re dedicated to maintaining our culture and I cannot thank you enough for your suggestions and advice. I’d love to hear more anytime and encourage you to reach out to me at: amy.peck@soul-cycle.com. Thank you so much for giving us this chance. With love and soul, Amy
