Pros

At one point in my tenure I worked for some good managers who have since moved on

Cons

Sears is an extremely disorganized organization. The majority of the competent leaders have moved on as I know many more are. The benefits are horrible and ridiculously expensive. When the company ceased their pensions and stopped giving merit increases about 5 years ago, all started going downhill.

Pros

Culture would be one of the only things that is a real plus in the organization. The Hoffmann Estates location is wonderful.

Cons

Poor Management, poor website content and technique. Managers are poorly placed and hired. Try to hang on to people with experience in the industry.

Pros

Normal store working hours, time and a half on Sundays

Cons

Everything! The company is in total chaos. Absolutely no direction to store associates. Store managers are in panic mode. The company made a decision to try upgrade technology into the 21st century by implementing digital technology, ie I-Pads & :-)Phone, the problem is this technology DOES NOT WORK with existing software. This leads to longer check-in times for customers. The technology constantly goes offline in the middle of sales leading to customers being charged twice. I.T. support is awful, everything about this technology is awful and upper management blames the sales staff saying they are resistant to change leading to high turnover. Right now departments are so short staffed that departments have no coverage. Corporate blames store management for the turnover when they've just following the company line. I've been in retail over 10 years including 3 with Sears and I've never seen anything like this. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!! I left the STAR rating blank because that's how bad it is.
