Pros

Flexible scheduling, in store discount and finding great deals. The Associates for the most part are all good people.

Cons

The upper management is a joke. In the years i was there we went through 4 store managers and the last one is the worst of all. To many visits to the store by cooperate, making the associates and dept managers work like crazy while the store manager sits on his ass and yells at everyone then goes home.

Pros

I was surrounded by people at the local level that continually worked to make the store look the best it could.....never did we get an audit that was less than superior

Cons

Started seeing a change in the attitude from upper Mgt.....seems there was a loss of direction...brought in young managers bent on making bonuses..whether right or shady

Pros

Huge Business! Exposure to lots of the 80s and 90s business thinking. The compensation is good, but use it like all "outside" people do. As a stepping stone. Get the title and move on. The leadership fluxes so much that it's no wonder nothing gets done. The inventory is so crazy it's hysterical. The leadership does a lot of PR work, but not a lot of actual work.

Cons

No longer relevant business, leadership is too worried about how it "looks" than what it does. Directors and above CYA and doing what they've always done. They promote from within, the problem is that most of the "within" is uneducated and there's no teaching done. So you have leaders that don't know anything but how to run a store.
