Pros

Big company, always a lot of motion and activity. Large campus includes promotional events and merchandise. Find out what is going to hit the stores before it hits. Also the campus has everything you need self-contained: bank, shops, barber, cafeteria. Company requires that all employees work out in the stores at a certain frequency so that you have an idea what your efforts in headquarters are supporting.

Cons

Poor work/life balance, declining business, political, never know when there will be layoffs and if you will be part of it, don't know what the other departments do and how you should be involved

Pros

Working in sales is probably the easiest job that Sears offers, and also one of the highest paying, except for higher management. The other salespeople are often young, and it creates a fun work environment. Even though the salespeople are on commission, there is much more of a cooperative than competitive feeling about the sales environment at Sears. Everyone helps each other out.

Cons

Business is sometimes slow, and there isn't much for salespeople to do during the downtime, so the job can be boring on days when few customers come into the store. Also, there is way too much emphasis for salespeople on selling their overpriced merchandise protection agreements. It's one of the hardest things to sell, but it's also basically all that management cares about in terms of performance.

Pros

Several years ago I could have mentioned many things, but now it's hard to think of anything positive to say about sears Canada.

Cons

Management at Sears Canada is horrible. Morale is at an all time low, but they don't seem to notice or care. Benefits are disappearing, and hours are increasing.
