Pros

Working at Sears you get to meet a lot of different people with different stories. You also learn a lot about putting together grills, and other appliances.

Cons

Downsides are that you do not get paid well at all. ALso sometimes the people on the sales floor will just string you out to dry and sell customres things that are not in stock and then you get stuck with the customers wrath

Pros

Its a job that pays the bills.

Cons

Very low employee morale, company is not doing very well, very old-school corporate environment. stingy vacation package. Horrible commute if you live in Chicago. Employee discount leaves a lot to be desired. 20% off Sears fashion isn't exactly a great discount. And 10% off K-Mart non-sale items only is a joke! Tell people you work for corporate Target and you immediately think "cool". Tell them Sears/K-Mart and you get a different reaction.

Pros

Good starting salary as assistant manager (but only if experienced or in the college recruiting program), because of the leadership vacuum that exists at the company, you can be promoted quickly to a store manager, especially if you are willing to relocate.

Cons

Long long hours, very little recognition or appreciation, toxic and highly negative environment, culture of fear and intimidation, few benefits, very little appreciation for work/life balance, low morale, terrible communication between corporate and stores, managers and employees, etc., no clear leadership, no clear plan for the future, very little positive reinforcement
