Pros

Good pay Annual leave is generous Good hours Flexible working depending on your manager

Cons

The HR/grievance process is a joke. You are treated like a leper should you dare complain. They will bring up anything they possibly can to try and win, lawful or not. Senior management are a joke. An 'if your face fits' culture. People are groomed for internal promotions and transfers - interview process is circus in these instances. There are too many senior managers barking orders and doing nothing. You spend half your job justifying your job or re writing the same information in different formats. Some departments are completely superfluous. You can be doing the same job as someone and be paid differently/have a different job title. I have witnessed many cases of ill qualified, not very intelligent and lazy individuals getting well paid jobs/promoted beyond their ability based on who they are 'in' with, when smart, hard working individuals are overlooked.

Hi, we’re very sorry to learn that you have frustrations about working for us and would really like to turn things around for you as soon as possible. We take feedback from staff very seriously whether this is via our Staff Ideas scheme or concerns about their employment via a grievance. HR Business Partners and senior members of the HR team are available to discuss any concerns informally if you don’t feel able to speak to your line manager. Regarding recruitment for roles at Sanctuary, both internal and external, we do have processes that are in place to ensure that candidates are appointed fairly, and aim to create an environment in which hard work is rewarded. We use an external job evaluation approach to ensure roles within the Group are evaluated and rewarded fairly across our businesses. In line with our charitable objectives, we do review our structures regularly to ensure we are making efficient use of our resources to deliver the best services to our customers. We would encourage you to get in touch to discuss your concerns and see how we can help address these with you. You can contact us by email - resourcing.team@sanctuary-housing.co.uk.

Pros

The people I worked with were very nice. There was also some degree of flexibility in terms of working hours. The pay was reasonably good.

Cons

The place was basically run by a small group called "Facilities", whose ideas of management appeared to be a throwback to East Germany in the 1970s. As a result, there was a quiet air of unease about the place. There were no fridges, no use of mobile phones, the dress-code was decidedly backward - and in short the whole place seemed very enclosed and suffocating. I managed just seven weeks before I could literally take no more, which I think says it all really.

Pros

Good pay Nice people Good location Lots of opportunities

Cons

No parking Stuck in very old fashioned ways, staff aren't allowed fridges, or dishwashers, flexi-time removed, not flexible in terms of working from home, dress code is closely monitored, sometimes feels like we are in 1940's Germany.
