Pros

Great exposure to airline and travel industry Incredible market potential but need a different approach and leadership team

Cons

Leadership do not own problems rather brush them under the rug or find scapegoats to blame Executives are are far removed from employees and customers Poor quality on new solutions which are too reliant on legacy systems HR cannot be trusted Many customer complaints, dissatisfaction with new solutions, limited options

Pros

Can work from home (but its offshore - lots of late night calls) The Data Science team is new and small - could be a place to make a mark

Cons

It is basically a statistical analytics team right now - not a big data team, and probably no scope in the near future. You can expect to split hairs running all your code in R (team preference) on a single node. Be very careful about the terms of offer acceptance with this company. The HR practices are very craftily designed to trap employees into a unilateral job agreement where they reserve the right to fire an employee with 1 month notice (0 if tenure < 6 mo), while the employee is bound to serve a notice of 2 months. This is a policy exceptional to this company so far in my experience and no educated person would want to sign such a document - except one doesn't really have a choice once already resigned from previous work place. Basically, this is a company that wants to squeeze employees, than be friendly to them.

Pros

Really nice campus (including a gym and onsite clinic, excellent cafeteria), great benefits, fun company events, incredibly talented and good people.

Cons

Compensation is almost non-existent - always has been the case. Negotiate WELL during your hire as you may never see an increase. The culture has turned to fear since former CEO Sam G's departure - he is greatly missed. Prepare to work to an "outstanding" level just to get a successful annual rating in certain business divisions. New executive team has refreshing goals but not certain I see a positive future for what was an otherwise incredible company for which I was so proud & happy to be employed. Under cost-cutting measures and prior to IPO, it was interesting watching so many experienced folks get let go two years ago while at the same time, interns walked out the door often with prizes such as flat-screen TVs and computers.
