Pros

Training is thorough and updated on a weekly basis corresponding with what is happening in store that week, making it a great place to gain retail experience and knowledge.

Cons

The time-off policies are very strict and some managers are not at all lenient in regards to illness or shift swapping.

Great group of people difficult work in busy times

Pros

Reasonably flexible to my other commitments, understanding management and genuinely nice people to work with. I pretty relaxed environment.

Cons

The work can be mundane, but the management did alter tasks to prevent it being too tedious. At first it can be difficult to handle your first angry customers, have to take it on the chin.

Great way to make ends meet

Pros

The perks are good, I was paid a bit above minimum wage and obviously free clothes were given out every quarter, plus a 30% discount. They were nice about working particular hours, never forced me to do any long shifts or work extra hours unless I wanted to.

Cons

People were quite snooty. Although my colleagues were lovely, I found that the customers felt the right to screech for the most ridiculous requests. Of course the customer is always right. As well as that, I only worked there for 6 months. Even so, I was in the same role day after day. I really didn't like that no one thought I would progress in my job.
