Sales assistant at River Island = Good for experience but terrible to work for.

Pros

The clothes discount was good and getting to pick our own uniform was nice.

Cons

I did not enjoy working there, in women's wear the environment was very unprofessional I often felt bullied by certain members of management. Booking holiday time was always a shambles and finally everything was very disorganised.

If you want to LOVE what you do, learn new skills and make new friends, River Island is NOT for you.

Pros

- The manager I had before she left was amazing. She made working for River Island bearable. - 50% off for managers.

Cons

-Training is poor. It's literally just "Sign-it-all-off-so-we-don't-fail-our-audit" and not "sign-what-you-know-and-if-you-need-further-training-we-will-assist-you". -Head office are quite rude and unhelpful. -Area and regional managers are bullies. -Payroll are slow at fixing mistakes. -No opportunities within the company.

staff shop was great, canteen was really good

Cons

No training, brought work home most evenings, some of the employees were not very friendly, poor pay, no job stability, not a nice environment
