      Pros

      30% Staff discount off merchandise - the only positive i can think of !! Even at that, wearing river island jeans to work was compulsory so u had no choice but to buy them

      Cons

      Horrendous management in the Belfast store, sales assistants are given no respect by the managers, who are nasty to their employees and treat them like children. Very high turnover of staff when i worked there, most people couldnt wait to leave

      It really depends on who you end up working with, but altogether its was a good experience for me.

      Pros

      Every three months you get a uniform allowance based on how many hours you work a week. its always great to get new clothes for free. Also when you work with nice sales assistants it can be really fun and enjoyable.

      Cons

      If you end up working with people you dislike, it can be really challenging as you have to spend a great deal of time with them. Working is hard enough but with staff hellbent on making your shift a misery its incredibly annoying.

      The job was OK but I was deemed expendable

      Pros

      It taught me a lot of skills I can use in other jobs and in general everyone was nice and helpful, also you get a decent discount and get to talk a lot with customers

      Cons

      Being new, I definitely felt a sense of the hierarchy, not just with managers. It was like treading on eggshells - one minute it's ok to do one thing, then another you were told off for doing the same thing. Also, it took them 3 weeks to bother to train me on tills, even though at point I would be the only person on the shop floor and would awkwardly have to ask customers to wait until someone came down.
