Pros

• Great Colleagues • The opportunities to progress (for some at least) • Good discount • Uniform allowance

Cons

• MASSIVE favouritism culture • Low pay in comparison to competitors • Some micromanagement from certain managers • An unfair sick pay scheme • Company specifically says they are there for you in mental health crisis yet offer you absolutely nothing when the crisis hits

Pros

Full time hours available, and paid 4 weeks training before you initially start in store

Cons

As senior management (secondary to store manager) the pay (£12p/hr) does not reflect this. RI as a business has many strict rules in terms of their store layout and processes which needs good problem solving skills.

Pros

Uniform allowance was okay for part time staff. Some of the team members are really nice and lovely to work with.

Cons

Managers often bullied younger members of staff by shouting, pointing in faces, gossiping, and denying breaks/ holidays Managers tried to work people out of the business through bullying tactics. Staff members were not given the right amount of breaks, and if they were given their break, they were often asked to make up the time later on. Holidays were not given and the managers just assumed that it was okay to pay for them instead, even after they were requested months in advance. Low pay Managers act like a group of mean high school girls making it a highly toxic environment to work in. Sick days were followed up by a 'back to work meeting' (even after 1 day off). In my experience, I was grilled for almost an hour by a 'level 2 manager' with no mental health training about why I was off for depression. I left the same day. The branch that I worked in operated in a very 'us versus them' manner whereby the managers were discouraged from being friendly with staff members. Female staff members were often pulled up for not wearing makeup/ making an effort, but male staff were not held to the same standards.
