Pros

Seeing celebrities, meeting people from all walks of life. the wow factor with friends, and ability to stay for discounted rates.

Cons

Work, Work Work.. the need to be available 24 hrs a day every day. Not dealing with people who think. There are FAR too many corporate initiatives that come down the pipe and are removing leaders and employees form the daily operation and guests. there is also a big issue with putting the cart before the horse so to speak... Starting something when it hasn't been thought through and not fully ready. There is also a lack of opportunity in operations for acknowledgement, as well as office space. Also the conservative nature of dress. Trendy should not be in but there need be more consistency.

Pros

For your resume as work history, to learn exceptional guest service skills. To learn what NOT to do as a manager.

Cons

Poor leadership, low salaries, lack of opportunity for promotion to leadership within the same property. Ridiculous expectations of availability for very little recognition and mim. salary.

Pros

Amazing benefits for non management jobs. Great employee discounts on rooms/ travel! Employees are treated with respect and there is long longevity at the company. The Ritz-Carlton staff are often the best in the industry and really love where they work. This clearly emulates in their job. The hotels are truly amazing and something you could be very proud of! The benefits including health and perks are fantastic! All in all the Ritz has a long history of excellance and it a fabulous brand to represnt. If you are seasoned in your career this is a wonderful place for you!

Cons

Salaries are very inconsistent based on sneior leadership. There is no consistency within the company. In general the guidance teams at all the properties are also very secretive and you can not trust them... anything you tell a guidance team member will ultimately spread throughout the hotel like fire. The Ritz-Carlton is there to protect it's assets and take care of it's guests...often at the expense of management. Although you are said to be an important asset...you are not treated that way. Non management positions DO get better treatment and recognition. Salaries at the Ritz are lower than the comp set for mud management.
