Pros
Coworkers and regulars made the day-to-day bearable. Free to express yourself in your dress and relatively laid back atmosphere, usually.
Cons
Upper management clueless about their staff - even the ones who have been there for years through all the changes and have earned Philz the reputation the Jaber family reaps so much profit from today. I'm talking don't even know some of their oldest employee's names. Falling over themselves to expand as quickly as possible while still trying to maintain a small, family-run, San Francisco roots facade. Usually companies that tout the San Francisco mindset treat their employees well and are proud of that fact. Philz is overlooking its most important asset - the people who wake up at 4:30 a.m. to make those amazing cups of coffee all day. Compensation? Benefits? We didn't even get a Christmas party. It's ok for six months until you realize there is no room for growth and not a sliver of recognition for any of your work. You're better off at Starbucks, good coffee or not.
