You can learn alot. Its good for first job.

Cons

Employees are taken advantage of. Too much work and no employees. Hours get cut all the time. They hire people as managers that dont do work or dont know a thing about cars or the automotive industry. They dont care about the employees at all. They make the stores look good when people.like greg russ comes around but any other day the store looks terrible

experience on multiple car makes and models. ASE certs are paid for by pep boys. Great training staff and real world techniques.

Cons

Too many techs and mechanics in the bays. Productivity is held over your head, and Pep Boys standard op procedure plus overhiring accounts for 15 to 30% of a techs lost productivity.
