Very disheartening! I sacrificed my family to give more. I truly gave everything I could give and I got nothing.
Pros
Working with the customers, getting them a yes we can fix your problem when all they have heard is no from everyone else. Succeeding and delivering on everything you had promised the customer and them staring you in the eyes and genuinely thanking you for fixing there problem. Feeling the accomplishment, the hard work and everything you had done to make their visit wonderful. Turning them into a "you" customer not a Pepboys customer. The ability to create your following.
Cons
Very very poor, better yet said lack of or no training at all. They just toss you to the wolves and expect you to leap hurtles, climb mountains and create miracles. Now some of us are able to do that and we do that just fine, but I poured my heart and my soul into my job and truth be known there are so many facets to the job that a lot are often overlooked or never completed, again do to not knowing because you we're never properly trained. It would be a lot easier if we had support especially from our Human Resource department. Over the past year Pep Boys has taken a severe turn for the worse. The new HR person for the particular area/division that I was working in was the absolute worst HR person I had ever worked with. An absolute total disappointment. You know what I'm saying when I say it's one of those types of people that's always pointing the finger at everything but never looks down to see where the thumb is pointing. Zero recruiting abilities and displays no sympathy nor empathy for other employees. I cannot stress how disappointed I myself and the majority of other Pepboys employees are of the current HR in the area/division I was working in.
