- the employees are viewed as objects and not as people - lack of transparency - very demanding place to be (you will probably do another two or three jobs while doing yours) - deadlines are really tight and set by people that are not technical - close to none chance of growing or career opportunities - very political place (if you're good at talking you can get by not doing any work) - it looks like there's a cycle: before each bonus, they put in a lot of demanding projects so you kinda have to do them if you want to receive your bonus (and not quit before the bonus is paid)

Since the merger, everything mentioned above is dead in the water. Its hard to believe that its the same company anymore. Most of the good people and talent were shown the door when betfair took over. It was not a "merger" as they would have you believe. In an effort to cut costs and keep the shareholders happy, the people who helped build the company were turfed out, and their work was outsourced to "low-cost" centers. The atmosphere during my last 2 months there was awful and from what I have heard from friends still working there, it's only gotten worse. Don't be fooled by the Paddy Power cheeky charm. It was a great company once, the best in fact, but not anymore. You missed the good times, look elsewhere.
