Pros

Working under the American Airlines umbrella is a pro for the travel benefits.

Cons

Working under the American Airlines umbrella means you're treated as second-rate because you are a regional airline. Regional airline pay is extremely low. Company morale is low too. There is also a ridiculously unfair attendance policy in place that has gained much attention by union members.

Ok for starting out in the field.

Pros

Will hire people right out of A&P school. Able to work and learn on most aircraft systems.

Cons

Poor work culture. Very high turnover rate for mechanics and lack of good overall experience outside the very top of the seniority list. Growth of fleet is outpacing growth of workforce. Management staff continues to receive aircraft despite an inability to staff for what they already have.
