Your frustration is understandable. The current leadership team has been working diligently over the past 10 months to get PIRCH back on track after years of mismanagement. We encourage feedback that is constructive and ask that we all stay focused on our customers and fellow employees as we continue to focus on the new strategy for PIRCH.

Pros

The people that you work with here have a family type atmosphere because of the way the old executive team ran things. Although they almost ran the company into the ground, they did do one thing right which was treating their employees with respect. They were very good at deceiving us and basically saying "look at this awesome new showroom" so we were distracted from them throwing money into a barrel and setting it on fire. The new executive team isn't much better. They are completely opposite from the last team, you can tell they don't care too much about the employees, its all about the money now. I get they feeling that they are trying to be similar in the culture much like the old executive team, but we are just numbers, and when your employees are numbers, you don't feel emotions towards them. They are updating their systems to be more modern so that we can be competitive and not rely on ancient methodologies.

Cons

With the new executive team, you can expect that they will hire outside of the company to fill their management positions and it will be with someone they worked with at their previous company (PetSmart, Oakley, etc..). The new executive team promised to be transparent, and if a brick wall is transparent, then yes they are in fact transparent. Positions at the company that used to start at 17+ an hour now start at minimum wage, and they are wondering why their senior employees are leaving for better opportunities. The key word being better. I would imagine the only reason that they still have as many employees as they do currently is because they haven't quite found somewhere to go yet. I've wanted to stay here and possibly expand my career with Pirch, I've been here through the best and worst of times. I've survived the massive layoffs and I try to be positive about this company but there is only so much I can witness before I have to cut my losses. If you want to hire employees at minimum wage, you are going to create departments of under-educated, under skilled people who don't care because they don't pay enough for them to care.

Thank you for your feedback, tenure and continued contributions to PIRCH. There has been a lot of change and we acknowledge not all of it has been easy. We are so proud of our teams and leaders. Just last month we were named the fastest growing appliance retailer in America for the second consecutive year! With over 100 hires year to date and 30+ positions open we are a growing company with a bright future! Of those 100+ hires 2 are from Oakley and 3 from Petco (since you mentioned it). The other 95+ are too many to name, but a diverse slate of top talent from many different companies and industries. Thanks, again, for your feedback. Please feel free to connect directly as well. Not much room for growth

Pros

At first, PIRCH was a fun and exciting place to work. Several perks, fun co-workers. And a "sky's the limit" overall feeling. There were rumors of potential stock options. Several locations across the country where you could potentially transfer to. Good benefits. No time clock to punch. Just work your hours, and get your work done, and you won't be scrutinized. Everything was about the culture here.

Cons

Fast forward 5 years... The management team has been completely replaced. From CEO to COO to HR team. And every other dept. Lots of recent lay-offs. Entire departments were cut. Now a new team has been hired and there is no longer a family vibe. Culture has been all but forgotten. With the new team and changes, comes a lot of disorganization. There is a feeling of uncertainty; where are we headed... will I have a job tomorrow... That sort of feeling makes it a stressful environment for most.

Thank you so much for your transparent feedback and advice. We appreciate all you do for PIRCH. You're right, it's not the same place that resulted in the entire management team being replaced. Many tough business decisions have been made to keep our company growing, achieving growth objectives and delivering on our promises to customers. That's not easy by any means. We just were ranked America's fastest growing appliance retailer and INC magazine just ranked us one of America's Top 25 Most Disruptive Companies. We offer unlimited PTO, you can transfer to one of more than 15 locations and change is a part of our daily lives here as we continue to innovate, optimize and improve the way we bring our customer's kitchen, bath and outdoor dreams to life. We want you to be happy and inspired where you work and would welcome the opportunity to hear your thoughts on how we can improve and get better. Stop by my office anytime or give a call at at 858.239.4457 and thanks again for all you do.
