Pros

IT Staff is nice when they not paniced about losing their job

Cons

1. CIO is an absolute DISASTER. Way over his head. 2. Projects never complete because CIO use the budget given from the business as his personal pot of gold to reallocate to the newest IT fad instaed of what the busiess asked to be built. 3. CIO's brings a new definition to micro- managing 4. Be prepared in an open forum of your senior peers is explain to the CIO what you do for 8 hours a day. 5. Comp if are expecting a case bonus take that bonus and subtract 75% that is put into equity that has a 1/3 maturity over 3 years. 6. Expect if you are on a core project to be working weekends and getting calls form the CIO at all hours and 7 days a week. AND YOU BETTER PICK UP. 7. If you feel technology is best solutioned and developed with standards, Kiss that pipe dream away. 8. Finish a project - NEVER as priorities literally change day to day and at time hour to hour. 9. I wrote this the make sure people that want to build a technology career or value the one they already have never want to be at Newmark.

Pros

They paid on time, and have a decent amount of company holidays.

Cons

You mean nothing to them and they treat you that way. They don't want to give you the proper tools to do your job to the best of your ability and to reduce time, even though the brokers demand everything now. You have too many brokers per person to do anything to a proper professional, finished level. The brokers complain about not finding you when you take a bathroom or legally mandated break, and your boss won't protect you. You boss won't have your back on anything. Everything is a constant fight, no one trusts you to do your job or be the professional you are, you are treated and talked to like you're five years old. Absolutely no advancement opportunities. This was the first job in my life where I received zero promotions, responsibility and title promotions not just money. All of my other jobs I would get two within the first year. They have no respect for your personal life, putting high pressure on you to work OT and miss family life milestones or to miss events you paid your hard earned money for. Texting after hours and during vacations that you gave 6 months' notice was happening. There is also a lot of lip service about diversity but actions speak louder than words. 90%+ of hiring and promotion announcements are white men. Lots of lip service about being tight-knit teams or supporting one another, but it was really corp-speak to abuse the talents of those doing the work to supply items to clients.

Pros

None - I learned things but I'm not sure it was worth the cost of working for them

Cons

They talk a big talk but once you sign on, you come to realize all it was, was talk. - Disorganized leadership with no clear vision. - When COVID hit, they had all the "little" people take paycuts while the top earners continued on as normal. - If you're good at your job you will praised but never offered advancement because they have a tendency to pigeon hole their good people. - If you give your two weeks, they will fire you on the spot and then attempt to file the paperwork as you "resigned" so they don't have to pay unemployment benefits. - No 401k match - No work life balance - Terrible benefits - No culture
