Pros

I get to work on things that are important and give me a sense of satisfaction. I enjoy my co-workers and the flexibility that my supervisor gives me to get my job done. I appreciate that the leaders of the organization are committed to our values - Accountability, Safety, Service, Innovation, Spirit and Teamwork.

Cons

I travel a lot for my job, but enjoy interacting with our members and others in the safety community. So while it isn't always easy being away from my family or dealing with the hassles of being on the road, it is an acceptable trade-off because it enables me to be more successful in executing my responsibilities.

The commitment to the NSC mission runs across the organization Knowledgeable and committed staff Good benefits and culture Strong brand, advocacy work and stability in the industry

Cons

Commute and location at times can be long, but NSC understands that and works with employees on flexible work schedules etc.

Good values and actions of the organization support those values. Positive work environment and kind, humble, action-oriented, thoughtful, and intelligent co-workers. I love it here!

Cons

Salaries are fair and reasonable, but aren't as much as for-profit world. There aren't a lot of options for advancement / career paths due to the size of the organization.
