Pros

No good reasons, don't bother!

Cons

Shop floor staff is talk about each other and management behind the back and management is doing the same, backstabbing and complaining to the head office. Head office is just a joke, bunch of young girls acting important and experienced when in fact they don't know what they are doing. Looks like the most important for them is to prove how great and important they are. Lack of experience, understanding and professionalism, the smallest thing seems difficult to do. Seems to me that a gossip and complaints are the most important but not insight and understanding. Just a deplorable joke! Jewellery is at good discount but quality is so low, dishonest information are being past to a customers and "vermeil" as they call it is just a plaiting that comes off quicker then you think. Not worth a penny! Massive turn over of staff say a lot about the company, and they call themselves a luxury brand, I don't think think they even know what that means!

A toxic environment

Pros

Good discount Talented and committed mid level workforce

Cons

Toxic head office environment where all team members are expected to work above and beyond for little acknowledgement or reward. This includes very long working days, checking emails on holiday, weekends, with absolutely no respect for a work life balance. Employees wellbeing is not of importance, with many teams extremely stressed, depressed and hating their jobs. This is well known within the company, and yet is glossed over, because the team deliver results. Feedback on volatile senior management is ignored. Full flexibility and loyalty is expected from employees, and not received in return whatsoever. Teams are given little time to plan and execute projects , taking fast-paced to a new level. Due to high turnover and redundancies (because of all the above!) job roles are chopped and changed as appropriate, with responsibilities added with little to no agreement. If you question or can't manage the new work load, it's your issue rather than the company.

Thank you for your comments which, whilst pretty awful for us to hear, are clearly heartfelt. We do try to encourage an environment that supports open and honest feedback through our formal appraisal system, although note that you feel feedback has been previously ignored and employees wellbeing is not of importance. We recognise that you must have felt very strongly about your experience to share these comments and we are saddened that you have been so disappointed in your experience in working with us. Whilst we cannot comment on your individual situation, we can assure you that we are always open to listening to concerns or feedback from our past and present employees to help us understand their experience with the company and what they feel we can do to continue to evolve our culture and ways of working. Your honest review is appreciated in helping us learn these lessons. We wish you well for the future.

It's come a long way down since I started

Pros

Very generous staff discount. Regular training opportunities and lots of promotion opportunities (but because people keep leaving!) Twice-yearly Updates which are entirely company paid for; amazing memories. A decent wage, ... usually. A great bonus scheme, usually.

Cons

I can't put my title because that would be very obvious who I was and I'm unsure how that would be taken. A very toxic and negative environment in Head Office. Upper management makes mistakes with forecasting, punishes staff by not increasing wage in line with inflation and refusing bonuses despite £1m the first day of Black Friday (2018) and continually high performance. They consistently deny there is an issue with staff turnover - the reviews on here suggest its the same in-store too. They lose experienced, devoted team members by promoting friends of management, rather than basing it on your performance - where's the motivation to try beyond the bare minimum?
