MIT is a very special place, with a very human and unique culture. It is great to be surrounded by extremely bright and inteligente people while feeling at home and not intimidated.

Cons

As a parent, I'd appreciate not as lengthy day-care placement ( can extend for over 2 years), as well as cheaper day-care rates.

You can put MIT on your resume.

Cons

I found colleagues to be very flat without a life outside of work. Employees don't move around into other positions due to a culture of feeling disloyal. As a result, folks are very burned out and have little interest in their work and life.
