Mahle & Delphi not loyal to employees

Pros

none that I know of except that they kept a few jobs

Cons

After 35 years loyal service to GM and Delphi, I was let go when Delphi announced takeover of Thermal Division by Mahle. I was not given option to continue employment, nor even to transfer to another facility. People at Delphi Vandalia worked hard to try to fix a tough situation, but they persevered. People who had previously worked at Mahle in Dayton told me they came to Delphi Vandalia because of a hostile work environment at Mahle ... now they are forced to go back to that ... I wish them all the best in finding decent employment and some peace of mind!

Pros

Good Health benefits, paid vacations and holidays. Company is breaking sales records every year, yet never seems to benefit the employee.

Cons

I've been a hard working, dedicated employee of 15+ years with great attendance. I'm rewarded by having my workforce cut in half, thus having to work twice as hard to keep up. Mahle used to be a good place to work until the last 5 years. Management has decided to save money at the expense of the hourly employee. Cutting benefits, raises, bonuses and morale. Supervisors are "yes men" and will do anything management tells them. My supervisor will actually avoid people to avoid problems. General lack of communication between the ranks. Employees treated like kids in school. Morale at all time low.

Pros

Many employees want to perform well.

Cons

The managers (senior + middle) only manage...meaning they don't provide leadership. Bullying, gossip, and a less than professional culture prevail. When things go awry blame is sometimes placed on subordinates rather than the person in charge. Managers should bear responsibility if they accept the authority. Perhaps it is due to a tough economic climate and the pressures that places upon the higher ups, but it is well known within the company that management does not deliver on promises. Floor associates work 7 days a week...but the front office is empty every Saturday and Sunday. What message does that send? How is that leadership?
