      Time wasted and voids of leadership

      Pros

      Very few pros to working for this company... flexibility with remote work was great, but contributed to a lack of human connection. A lot of the people who work at Lumen are absolutely awesome, but as the company started letting many of these people leave over the past 1-2 years, something didn't feel right.

      Cons

      The culture isn't great, there's a lack of leadership, and the benefits have been a disappointment. It seems as if everyone is obsessed about making a number and subsequently answering to wall street. My boss intentionally got rid of me days before a multi-year anniversary so that I would be denied employer matched contributions to my retirement as well as the vast majority of an annual bonus. This boss never even bothered to meet me in person for over 8 months... Cameras are off on pretty much every call anyways, so if you want to feel like you're part of something, avoid Lumen at all costs.

      Good front line employees. Weak and ineffective senior management

      Pros

      Competitive salary and good benefits.

      Cons

      Lack of integration of networks despite managements unfulfilled commitments to integrate them. Complicated internal systems lead to employee frustration and poor customer experience. Hiring practices need review to ensure employees receive what they were committed to. Poor morale due to constant layoffs and bad customer service (not related to employees).

      Cyclical Layoffs, New hires have worse benefits

      Pros

      WFH, relaxed schedule. Insurance was alright, albeit expensive.

      Cons

      5 managers in 3 years. Benefits like STI are noticeably worse for new employees vs older. Getting a perfect review only entitles you to a 5% raise at max due to the limited pool for raises given to departments. Most get none.
