Based on my experience in my team :-->
LEADERSHIP: Most of the Managers and leads are promoted becasue they requested to there seniors for the same. these guys have only one aim , stay in this company by sycophancy . and steal others hard work. they don't have any plan for the future and most of the time they are scared of making any decision.
POLITICS: As most of the resources don't want to work , they have to play politics to stay. and there targets are those who are good in the work. those who are really working hard , they are threat to them .
CURRUPTION: In my team we have three technical lead as fourth one recently promoted as project lead. All four are 3 out of 10 in technical aspects. Two to them got promoted throught internal job posting . (In rality most of the resources were told by there managers that our sr Manager wants them to be promoted so others should not apply, later interview panel were told to select them for the promotion).
NO GROWTH : If people are promoted by throwing parties , these leads and managers can't think about the growth of the resources. they will stick up to one single work .
MONETORY WISE : No hike for us last year . good ratings are given to those resources who are good in sycophancy.
WORKWISE: If you try to learn something or make something better, these guys will get panic and will do everything in there power to stop you to learn and grow. I have worked here for more than 2 years and still don't know much about telecom domain. or what exactly we are working on.
NO VISION: I don't know about there future.
If you work hard then get ready to find others getting awards and credit for your hard work. you will get credit only when there is any problem with the code.
