      Company is bad for your health

      Pros

      Company has good benefits which it is trying to take away.

      Cons

      The Corporation is anti-union, micro manages, management is afraid of talented employees, thus promotes unqualified people to management, Century Link also fires employees for little reason and frequently, sets metric numbers at unreasonable levels which causes poor customer service by stressed out employees. This corporation is also anti-union and can't settle union contracts in a timely manner. The bottom line is all about numbers and little about employee satisfaction.

      It pays the bills for now.

      Cons

      Every year is a decrease in pay. Health insurance goes up every year (it is a self insured company) and a wage increase (if any) that doesn't even allow us to break even. Minimal discount on CenturyLink services for employees. Past employers gave company services away for free as a perk of employment. Zero perks here! A constant push to sell services. Technicians are technicians, not sales people, for a reason. Would you want a sales person installing your services? To get credit for a legitimate sale, you have to fight a flawed system for it. I’ve given up completely as it’s not worth the aggravation anymore.

      Pros

      -really good pay like $12.50/hour plus commission - commission is really good and can average $1,000 to $2,000 extra pay each month - good benefits: healthcare, paid bereavement, plenty of overtime - cool employee’s and atmosphere at work - can surf the internet with free reign while working - the call center caters a lot to the employee’s for lunch and breakfast from high end rest. - Holiday bonuses are great.

      Cons

      -Sales quota can be challenging to reach on occasion - point system for tardy’s and missed work days - sitting in a chair long hours and cannot get up due to adherence requirements
