Pros

If you are a male employee, an employee's spouse, or related to someone important, you will do great here! And you will get paid what you are worth and then some! Also, paid maturity leave.

Cons

If you are a female that is not related to anyone, you will have to fight for everything, and get $10-30k less than your male counterpart with equal or less experience than you. You will get talked down to, told to just worry about yourself, and not worry about what other people make. You will be fed empty promises of growth within your department and be pushed aside when you expect management to uphold these promises. The entire company is a "boys club". You will not get invited to meetings with your own clients if you are a woman because the men can handle it without you... And the women in management will just throw you under the bus to make themselves look good when they drop the ball on something. They preach about the amazing "Lockton Culture," but they do not care about their employees. It is all for show. Also, unrelated, horrible HIGH deductible medical insurance.

Horrible culture for females

Pros

If you're a guy and manage the politics right you can probably do well here.

Cons

This company will promote and retain individuals in executive management who are known to have sexually harrassed employees. Management and HR will make examples all day long of lower-level associates who engage in harassment but when it comes to the upper ranks the behavior is a badly kept, dirty little secret. Management will say 'look around at all the women in leadership positions' as evidence of the company's zero-tolerance policy but the truth is that those women got there and stay there by looking the other way and keeping their mouths shut.

Pros

They gave away nice pens at a recent event.

Cons

As one of the 40% of Associates who VOLUNTARILY left Lockton's Private Risk Solutions group in 2024 I strongly recommend anyone thinking of joining the team to reach out to connected friends and colleagues to get the real story. PRS is not run like the rest of Lockton and the culture is totally different. In my opinion, the current leaders have created a toxic work environment that focuses on punishment and retaliation, not rewards or recognition. For example they were thinking about adding sales goals for client service teams, but called it "account rounding" and instead of giving you a bigger bonus if you hit your number they would reduce your bonus if you don't. It is they're natural inclination to lead by threats and intimidation. If you try to offer ideas, your considered not a team player since you dare to question their vision. Like me, most senior people have left and those remaining have multiple books to juggle. They don't have time to help new employees. New hires are struggling. Most teams have new managers that have little backgrounds in HNW or management. Its going to take years to fix so my advice is to wait and see what happens.
