Worst Decision I Ever Made Was Taking a Role Here

Pros

Lots of friendly people not in my department....not many pros from my standpoint Pay and benefits are decent but in the end the pay means nothing when you have a miserable job.

Cons

I don't even know where to start with this place....First off, I probably worked with the worst team on my floor and had I been working for another team I would have had a different opinion. My opinion never mattered and it seemed I was always kept out of the loop. Its like my team never wanted me to succeed. I was questioned for every move I made every day. It was so draining. I was told after I was hired that I got hired wrong and that the people who interviewed me had no idea what my role was because they had no background in what my expertise was. Such a great feeling and so poor on the companies part. -Get ready to work with some of the most unbalanced people who can't handle stress work here and sadly, I was apologized to from my own boss multiple times for my coworkers erratic behavior but nothing was ever done. -Get ready to be treated like a child and talked down to every day. -Get ready to be stressed out every single day you work here. You may develop a stomach ulcer. -Get ready to never make a mistake. -Get ready for no work like balance. Expect 11-13 hour days. -Get ready for your coworkers to not include you on anything and give you a warm welcome. -Get ready to pass your coworkers and receive a dirty look from time to time. If you like working in an environment where you are never inspired this is for you. I feel sorry for anyone that has to work around the people I had to work with. Such miserable and unbalanced people and could never loosen up and just have fun. These people didn't deserve my talents and I am glad to be doing other work for more positive uplifting people.

A culturally poisonous, abusive work environment

Pros

Work perks: On-site massage therapist, breakroom, central location on the Country Club

Cons

If I could give Senior Management and Culture & Values zero* stars, that would be my rating. In my 3 years there, I saw and/or experienced HR and unit managers doing absolutely nothing to address verbally abusive account executives, employees harassing new co-workers, and 'open door policies' used as entrapment. People are leaving not only for the under-industry standard pay, but more so fleeing from the culturally poisonous work environment that thrives and is nurtured there. I met some of the best people there, but more prevalently, the exact opposite. I promise you, as a new employee, do not be surprised if, for the first 6-7 months, you walk down the hall and say "Hello" to someone, just to have them flat-out ignore you. The egos in that office are too much to contain in one building. A lot of them being mere 24-30 year olds brought up in the ultra-pretentious "Lockton University" as Account Managers. Warning: If you are going through the AAM program, everything is a test. New associates are taken out as a test to see who handles their alcohol under the pretense that it's a night to go out and let your hair down. Just so they can partake in their favorite activity- judging and reporting back to spread gossip. (I was not in the AAM program, but was on the receiving end of the gossip). Absolutely unprofessional behavior. Setting people up to fail is the company motto. More disappointingly, HR is there to protect the interests of the company, not the employee. There is not one person in that department you can trust to handle your issues discreetly or professionally. I say all of the above with the greatest appreciation for my time there as I met some of my greatest friends and supportive co-workers. But, if you aren't looking for a personal reality show of how and where the worst managers, high-school drama queens, and corporate leeches live and work- avoid, avoid, avoid. If the location and name tempt you enough to apply and become employed there, go in feet first and be prepared to swim with the sharks.

Pros

Amazing starting salary, benefits are outstanding and begin on day one of employment, a lot of team collaboration while also working on your own, some great coworkers, beer Friday, free popcorn, A lot of activities to try and tear down departmental barriers (Christmas Party, Locktoberfest, Halloween Costume Contests, etc). Really felt like I made a difference for my clients.

Cons

HR/upper management does not care about harassment that exists in the workplace. Producers make women feel uncomfortable, stalking and sexual harassment is okay. Oh, and if you report the stalking or sexual harassment, they not only fire the individual harassing you, but they also fire you! Absolutely no job security if there is one person who dislikes you.
