Pros

Kmart is on the verge of recognizing some prime opportunities to increase customer satisfaction. There is a very strong loyalty base among customers.

Cons

60 hour work weeks at a minimum. While I am thankful to have a job, I don't like to be threatened about how it could be taken away when I ask for a day off. I distinctly ask about the work/life balance before coming on board and was told that the company loves family. I never see my family and I guess they meant that I would soon love my Kmart family.

Pros

It can be very rewarding. I had a great district manager. My store manager was not so great.

Cons

There is WAY too much work for how many hours you are allowed to schedule. Challenging do complete your work does not begin to desribe it. It is nearly impossible without working like 70-90 hrs a week ... and since you are paid on salary ... you are fully expected to work that long!!

Co-workers are nice and help each other out (excluding store-management). the occasional customer who is nice and understanding makes things a little bearable.

Cons

The district/regional management have no idea what goes on in their stores. they would rather have someone stand at a table and shove the rewards card on customers instead of helping the customers, causing massive lines and customers walking out. stress level is through the roof. corporate sets impossible goals but doubles them when we don't reach it .
